Eunu Lee draws upon Bruno Latour’s (1947-2022) ANT, seeking to dismantle hierarchies between human and nonhuman beings. His sculptures are forms of events in which nonhuman beings, once thought as peripheral objects, emerge as actors in their own right within anthropocentric thought.

For this exhibition, He presents works from his ongoing Paramorphosis series. These polyurethane-based forms appear as nonhuman presences that have expanded autonomously, temporarily occupying specific spots of this space.

Even when polyurethane is cast into a mold, the material expands while curing, making it difficult to fully control its form. Lee further complicates this relationship by using an artificial material to produce organic forms like mushrooms, thereby destabilizing distinctions between life and nonlife. His works thus highlight an environment collectively produced with human and nonhuman actors, matter and surroundings, and even physical conditions such as time, each participating as an alive agent.
